Individual attention - Classes are divided appropriately by age, and class size is limited to 20. Teachers invest time nurturing each campers creativity and skill level. The campers are driven to push their limits and explore, encouraging them to expand their imaginations as young artists. The campers are not just making art, they are learning about technique, art vocabulary, the principles of art and design and the history of art around the world, all taught on their age level. Parents can also get an evaluation of their child’s art level from the camp director at the end of camp.

Great location – Though out the camps seven week run, Art Adventure Camp’s location changes every two weeks, making it’s services available to a wide range of residence in Howard County. * Each section of camp runs for one week Monday through Thursday.

Studio experience - Daily lessons focus on teaching imaginative thinking and creative visual processes as well as problem solving. Lessons are introduced with games relating to the art topic, particular artists, art movements or specific techniques followed by a studio art period and time to share and revise work.

Variety - Breaks for recreation (Art related games such as find the primary color bags) and a snack are part of each day of camp.
* Everyday is different at Art Adventure, everyday is themed and children are encouraged to dress up or bring in an item relating to the day’s theme (Teachers and Picasso the monkey and Frida the Cockatoo dress up or bring in items too!). The Theme will be posted the day before, during camper pick up.
Example: Animal Day: Bring in your favorite stuffed animal

*First day is always Reflections Day, campers bring nothing but what is needed for a self portrait, themselves! On this day the children are also evaluated to see their art level. This determines what projects are introduced at camp.

Communication - Youth Art Camp newsletter (For the Parents) and monkey mail ( For the Kids) is handed out the first day of camp. Any important information or changes will be posted during drop off and pick up on the Info Board. Parents are also encouraged to signup for the email mailing list, every month projects, art facts, letters from Picasso and ideas are sent via email! Even after the week of camp is over, the learning and fun still continues! The camp blog will be updated year round! Also the Director can be contacted.

Student recognition - Each week of art camp culminates with an art exhibition attended by students' families, friends and teachers. They are given a certificate graduating them to the next art level.

Safety – Both Director and Assistant Director are CPR and 1st aid certified. Art Adventure Camp also had a rigid check-in and check-out system. Peanut products are prohibited and there is a daily routine snack check. Projects and materials are designed for the age group.
